Giants sweep Reedley
The Giants swept No. 13 Reedley with the help of their bats on Thursday, and their pitching arms on Saturday.
With the pair of wins, COS is atop the Central Valley Conference standings.
3-16: After taking a 5-2 lead in the fifth, Sequoias plated 8 runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Tigers 13-2.
Oscar Reyes had a monster day going 4-for-6 with 2 RBI.
Art Joven picked up his second win of the season, striking out five in five innings.
3-18: In the series finale, the Giants held on to a two run lead in the first inning and never looked back.
The first run was scored by Tucker Mendonca on a triple by Reyes. Reyes then came home on a RBI single by Tyler Morgan.
A trio of Giants threw scoreless innings. Sagun Gainey threw five, Troy Stainbrook threw three, and Alex Garcia registered the save, tossing one.
Next up for COS is a three game series with Cerro Coso. Game one is on Tuesday and at Ridgecrest. Game two is Friday at 2 p.m. and game three is Saturday at 1 p.m. in Visalia.
