Giants avoid sweep and stay in second place

After dropping the first two games in the series, the College of the Sequoias baseball team defeated Fresno City 5-2 on Saturday.
The COS bats' were loud early in the game to begin the game. In the top of the first, a pair of RBI singles by Gabe Corona and Dakota Stilson gave the Giants a two run lead.
Sagun Gainey was on the mound for the Giants, and after giving up two runs in the first inning, the freshman was lights out.
Gainey tossed seven innings, while allowing five hits on the day.
Alex Garcia picked up his third save of the season.
With the win, Sequoias held onto second place in the Central Valley Conference standings, ahead of the Rams.
COS will host their final CVC series of the year on Tuesday against West Hills Coalinga at 2 p.m.
