Bio

Coach Ben Walkowiak has been coaching California Community College Baseball since 2012, and in 2020 joined the Giants coaching staff in a return to the College of the Sequoias as an assistant pitching coach.

Walkowiak was a member of the first graduating class at El Diamante High School in 2006.  He helped the Miners establish winning programs both on the football field and the baseball diamond.  Walkowiak was named to the Tulare-Kings County All Star football team as a tight end, sending his teams to their first two playoff appearances.  On the baseball field, Walkowiak helped lead the Miners to back-to-back Valley Championships in 2005 and 2006 as a pitcher and outfielder.

Walkowiak enrolled at College of the Sequoias in 2006 and in 2007 had a record setting year on the pitching mound for the Giants.  Pitching in 25 games (tied for 2nd all time) and making 18 starts (1st all time), Walkowiak was named Pitcher of the Year and gained CVC All Conference recognition.  After his two years with the Giants, Walkowiak transferred with academic and athletic scholarships to Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Recreational Sports Management, Walkowiak returned home to the CVC conference as the pitching coach at Porterville College.  After serving as an assistant coach for five years, Walkowiak was named head coach of the Pirates from 2015 to 2017.

Walkowiak and his wife Tiffani reside in Visalia.
