Bio

Position: Tight Ends/Fullbacks

Education: California State University, Chico. B.A., Social Science, 1992.

Donovan McJunkin begins his 1st season at COS coaching Tight Ends and Fullbacks. He also serves as the Recruiting Placement Coordinator assisting COS football student-athletes transition to 4-year universities. Along with coaching at COS, Donovan is a local Visalia educator and has been teaching Economics at El Diamante High School since 2005.

Coach McJunkin began his teaching and coaching career at Burroughs High School in Ridge-crest, CA in 1993. He moved with his family in 1998 to the Central Valley when he became the Head Football Coach at Exeter High School. Other Valley high schools Coach McJunkin has coached football at during his 28 year career in education include Granite Hills, El Diamante and Mission Oak. Along with coaching football at the high school level coach McJunkin has also held positions as the Head Varsity Baseball coach at Burroughs High School and Head Varsity Girls Basketball coach and Assistant Varsity Softball coach at El Diamante.

Donovan is married to Christine, who is a Principal at Kennedy Elementary in Lindsay, CA. The McJunkin’s live in Visalia with their youngest child, Colin, who is a senior at Lindsay High School. Their oldest child, Katy (Oregon State ’18), lives in Washington with her husband Jacob who is proudly serving a career in the United States Navy. Their middle son, Trey, is a senior at Fort Hays State University in Kansas and is a quarterback on the Tigers football team
