Giants to face Sierra, Foothill at FCC Classic

COS will look to extend its unbeaten start at this weekend's Fresno City College Classic.

The Giants, who were ranked No. 6 in the state in the California Community College Men's Basketball Coaches Association preseason poll, are 3-0.

COS will open the FCC Classic at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 against No. 15 Sierra (2-1). The Giants face Foothill (3-1) at 3 p.m. Nov. 17.

Elihu Cobb (Santa Maria), one of three sophomores returning from a team that went 22-9 last season while reaching the state's Elite Eight, has led COS with 13.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

Ryan Johnson (Hanford), Tiyon Martin (Pasadena), Carlos Allen (Atlanta) and Amil Fields (Hayward) are all averaging at least nine points a game for the Giants, who are in their first season under coach Dallas Jensen.

Following the FCC Classic, COS will return to action at 5 p.m. Nov. 26 against Modesto (2-1) at Porter Field House.
