No. 1 COS Women’s Basketball Continues Winning Ways with 95-43 Victory at Lemoore

LEMOORE, Calif. — The No. 1 state-ranked College of the Sequoias women's basketball team (25-0, 9-0) delivered another dominant performance on the road Saturday, rolling to a 95-43 victory over Lemoore College (8-16, 3-6). The Giants continued their exceptional efficiency on both ends of the floor, shooting 71.2% from the field while holding Lemoore to just 43 points. With the win, COS remains undefeated and continues to build momentum as they push toward the postseason. 

Jocelyn Medina (Arbuckle) was outstanding, posting a rare triple-double with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in a complete all-around effort. Morgan Trigueiro (Caruthers HS) followed with 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting, knocking down two three-pointers. Anisa Torres (Caruthers HS) contributed 12 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals, while Olivia Gill (Woodland) provided a key spark off the bench with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting. 

The Giants established control early, jumping out to a 19-13 lead in the first quarter before breaking the game open with a 29-9 second quarter. Their defensive pressure forced 20 turnovers, creating transition opportunities that fueled the offense. COS kept its foot on the gas in the second half, outscoring Lemoore 47-21 to seal another convincing victory. 

"This team continues to show great effort and chemistry every time we step on the court," Head Coach Tyler Newton said. "We moved the ball really well tonight, and our defensive energy helped us create easy scoring opportunities. It's exciting to see the way we're growing and improving each game."
