COS Shows Well at State Meet
Ismael Ramirez (Redwood) placed 8th individually in the men's community college cross country championships this past weekend in Fresno, CA with a time of 20:39 on the four-mile course earning All-American honors. David Roderick (Redwood) was the second finisher for COS and finished 66th with a lifetime best on the Woodward Park course with a time of 21:45. Two other giants finished with lifetime bests Oscar Perez (Dinuba) 74th with a time of 21:49 and Joel Garcia (Monache) 81st with a time of 21:57. COS finished 10th overall in the state championship for the men.
The COS lady giants also ran in the state finals last Saturday with Lidia Briseno (John F. Kennedy) finishing 31st with a lifetime best in the 5k with a time of 19:35. Courtney Santos also competed running her lifetime best with a time of 21:05.
