Littlejohn earns first team all-state, signs with University of South Florida:
COS football tight end, Jayson Littlejohn was recently named a first team all-state selection by the California Community College Football Coaches Association. His reward for his academic and athletic performance…… a full ride scholarship to the University of South Florida.
"We are so proud of him," said COS head football coach Travis Burkett. "He embodies everything we strive for here with our football program. He is a Hanford native and came here to develop as a student-athlete. He is a great teammate, and now he is moving on to a phenomenal opportunity to continue his career as a student-athlete."
Jason Littlejohn graduated from Sierra Pacific High School in 2019 where he played on both offense, defense, and was named the East Sequoia League offensive player of the year. Littlejohn stands 6-4 and weighs 235 pounds and will leave shortly after the Christmas break to join USF for the spring semester. The University of South Florida plays in the AAC (American Athletic Conference).
"I am excited and ready to get to work out in Tampa (Tampa Bay, Florida). I appreciate Coach Scott (Head Coach), Coach Da Prato (Assistant Coach), and Coach Dye (Assistant Coach) for giving me this opportunity. I am excited to get to work," said Littlejohn.
Littlejohn was an integral part of the COS offense this past season what went 6-5, and defeated Merced in the Valley Center Bowl, capturing COS' first bowl win since the 1991 season. Littlejohn caught 37 passes for 417 yards including 6 touchdowns on the year. He caught at least one pass in every game this season. "Jayson fits the mold of big skill players that we build our offense around, he's a great athlete and guys like Jayson help us keep it simple around here. I'm thrilled he had a great experience here," said Coach Burkett.
