COS Wins In Day 1 Of Tournament

Day 1
Game 4: College of the Sequoias 81 Shasta 68: COS converted 17 of their 19 second half free throws to hold off Shasta College 81-68 in the first round of the tournament. COS was paced by Dida Pereira with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Five Giants scored in double figures. Shasta was led by Ashton Pomrehn with 15 points. COS will face Ventura College tomorrow at 7pm in the second round of the tournament. COS overall record improves to 9-5.
Game 1 San Bernardino Valley 68 Pasadena 46: San Bernardino led by nine points at half and never looked back as the #2 ranked team in the south pulled away in the second half to win 68-46. SBVC received 16 points from Perris Hicks including three 3-pointers to lead them to victory. Pasadena's leading scorer was Donell Tuff with 10 points and 11 rebounds. SBVC plays at 5pm tomorrow vs. Oxnard while Pasadena will face Cerritos at 1pm in the consolation bracket.
Game 2 Oxnard 75 Cerritos 62: Oxnard outscored Cerritos 50-31 in the second half to pull away for he win. Oxnard was led by DeSean Scott who exploded for 32 points and 17 rebounds. Cerritos received 13 points from Dillon Reise. Oxnard will play Pasadena tomorrow at 1pm while Oxnard will advance to play San Bernardino Valley at 5pm.
Game 3 Ventura 77 El Camino 56 Ventura outscored El Camino 36-22 in the paint to win in the first round of the tournament. Jamal Lewis led Ventura with 19 points. El Camino received 14 points from Dantay Blanson in the loss. Ventura will play at 7pm tomorrow while El Camino will play at 3pm in the consolation bracket.
