COS Advances To The Finals With Win Over Ventura

Game 8 College of the Sequoias 73 Ventura 61: The host Giants pulled away from Ventura College late in the second half to advance to the finals of their own tournament. COS outscored Ventura 44-32 in the second half and was 29-35 from the free throw line to get the win. COS was led by Dida Pereira who tallied 28 points and 9 rebounds. Derek Check also contributed with 14 points. COS advanced to the finals of their own tournament in the second year in a row to face San Bernardino Valley College who is currently the #2 ranked team in Southern California.
Game 5 Cerritos 63 Pasadena 48: Khalid Washington scored 16 points for Cerritos who advanced to the consolation championship Sunday at noon. Pasadena received 14 points from Todd Barnes in the loss.
Game 6 Shasta 79 El Camino 63: Shasta got out to a 41-25 halftime lead and never looked back as they defeated El Camino to advance to the consolation championship of the tournament. Shasta received 16 points apiece from Ashton Pomrehn and Brett Cloney in the win. El Camino was led by Kevin Corona with 16 points in the loss.
Game 7 San Bernardino 90 Oxnard 64: San Bernardino outscored Oxnard 44-22 in the paint to cruise to another win. San Bernardino now sits at 15-2 on the season. Jacardo Hawkins tallied 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead San Bernardino. Oxnard was paced by Terrance Nunnery with 19 points in the loss.
