COS Defeats Merced on the Road
(1/13/15)
The Giants moved to 2-0 (12-7 overall) in CVC play last night as they went on the road to defeat Merced College. The Giants were led by Freshmen forward Dida Pereira who scored 35 points and pulled down 20 rebounds. After the game Coach Smith had this to say about Pereira's performance, "Dida has been a tear of late, scoring 30 plus in the last 3 games. It's hard to produce those types of numbers."
Other key contributors for the Giants were point guard Derek Check, who pitched in 15 points and 5 assists. Shooting guard Kyle hurt chipped in 13 points and forward Kody Wilson was a spark plug of the bench with 9 points.
The Giants look to move to 3-0 in CVC as they take on Porterville College on the road at 7pm this Saturday night in Porterville.
