Bio

Michael Bedoya was hired as the College of the Sequoias men's basketball assistant coach in the summer of 2024. Prior to joining COS, Bedoya spent four successful seasons as an assistant coach for Dinuba High School Boys Basketball under Head Coach Jeff Schofield. During his time there, he played a vital role in the program’s success, helping lead Dinuba to a 104-20 overall record, securing three league championships, and capturing the CIF Central Section Division II Championship in 2024. His focus on opponent scouting and player development, particularly in shooting and post play, was instrumental in the team's success.

Before Dinuba, Bedoya served as the Head Student Manager for the UC Santa Barbara men's basketball program from 2015 to 2019 while earning his bachelor’s degree. At UCSB, Bedoya contributed to the program’s day-to-day operations, assisting with skill development, practices, and film study, while also working with professional trainers and NBA athletes during the offseason.

In addition to coaching, Bedoya is a dedicated educator, working as a 7th-grade history teacher for Dinuba Unified School District. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chicano Studies from UC Santa Barbara and a Master’s Degree in Education from UC Davis.
