Bio
Tommy Luu took on the role of Assistant Athletic Director at the College of the Sequoias in Fall 2023, where he oversees various operational facets of the athletic department. A significant part of his responsibilities includes managing game day operations and coordinating game management staff. Luu also works closely with coaches and support staff to facilitate a seamless experience for both student-athletes and spectators. His attention to organizing logistics, scheduling, and event management ensures that games and other athletic events are successful.
In addition to game management, Luu is responsible for supporting the needs of COS coaches and student-athletes. He collaborates with coaching staff to provide necessary resources and ensures that all teams have the support they need, both during and outside of competition. Luu is committed to fostering an environment where student-athletes can thrive academically and athletically, coordinating with academic advisors and ensuring athletes have access to the tools they need for success. In addition, he is responsible for managing the athletic department’s social media presence, including platforms like Twitter and Instagram, to enhance the visibility and engagement of the College of the Sequoias athletics programs. He creates promotional content, which are used for both social media and the department’s website. Luu also plays a key role in organizing game day promotions, ensuring that events are marketed effectively to boost attendance.
Since 2017, Luu has also served as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at COS. In this role, he plays a key part in game preparations assists in recruiting, coordinating academic support, and providing mentorship to the players, ensuring they excel both on and off the court.
Tommy Luu earned his Master of Arts in Education from National University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management from San Jose State University.
