Nor Cal Preview Results
Sequoias' Track and Field had their second meet of the season as they competed at the Nor Cal Preview in Hayward.
On the men's side, COS finished third overall with a combined score of 121.
After finishing second in the high jump at the Bakersfield Invitational, Javari Fairclough finished first with a 1.95 meter jump.
In the 400 meter dash, Isaiah Johnson ran a 47.75, which was good for first place overall.
Sequoias' relay teams placed first in two consecutive weeks. In the 4 x 400m relay, Sequoias flew by the competition with the team of James, Lewis, Cobbs, and Bramwell winning with a time of 3:14.38. The 4x100m team won with a time of 40.78. Berggren anchored the relay team of Burton, Wallace and Jamison.
Freshman Bryce Huggins won the long jump for the second week in a row with 7.00m and he also placed first in the triple jump at 13.68m.
For the women, they placed fourth with a score of 113.
KiAna Cunningham's second place time of 12.28 in the 100m dash was just edged out by American River's Tatiana Bell who finished with 12.21.
In the 400m dash, Meleni Rodney smoked out the competition with a time of 55.01. Rodney gave COS 10 points with the first place finish.
Sophomore Cumisha Hobbs finished first in the second heat in the100m hurdles event. Her time of 16.06 was good for fourth overall.
COS was DQ'd in the 4x100m relay as the baton was dropped. Sequoias made up for it in the 4x400m relay. Omawahleh, Rodney, Hobbs and Morrison's combined time of 4:02.40 was enough to take first in the event.
Sequoias' next meets are March 4, The Beaver Relays at American River College and The Kim Dyst Invitational at CSU Stanislaus in Turlock.
