COS Goes 2-0 In COS Crossover
The COS women's basketball program hosted a two-day, four team event called the COS Crossover this past weekend at the Porter Field House. The COS women's basketball team came out on top of both of their games and was the only team of the four to go 2-0. Here is a brief recap of both of their games.
COS 91 Feather River College 74: Alexandria Tobie recorded a double-double by finishing with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Alijah Tuner also recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. COS outrebounded Feather River 47-31 and COS held Feather River to just 36% shooting from the floor. Imari Russel, Dakota Oliver, Myasia Gray, and Leigha Moland all recorded double figures as well in the game.
COS 72 San Mateo 66: COS defeated previously unbeated College of San Mateo on Saturday. Alexandria Tobie recorded her second double-double in a row by recording 21 points and 13 rebounds. Tobie also recorded 4 blocks as well. Leigha Moland recorded 20 points and went 9-10 from the free throw line. Dakota Oliver also scored double figures with 15.
"I liked the way we competed this weekend" said COS head coach Ray Alvarado. "We have some things to clean up but we are starting to play good basketball. We just need to keep getting better a little bit at a time." COS improved to 5-3 and will next compete in the ever rigorous 39th Annual Tom Gilcrest Invitational hosted at COS beginning on Thursday December 3rd.
