Day 2 Recaps
Game 9 Riverside 70 Porterville 55: Riverside jumped out to an 18-9 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Riverside (7-2) was paced by Jordan Lofton with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Porterville (2-5) received 18 points off the bench from Lauren Beath. Riverside will now face Sacramento City College in the consolation side of the bracket tomorrow at 10am.
Game 10 Santa Rosa 68 Ventura 65 OT: Santa Rosa (4-1) outscored Ventura (6-2) 11-8 in overtime to hang on for the win and advance to the semifinals of the tournament. Santa Rosa was led by Kerianne Noonen with 17 points which included four 3 point baskets. Ventura received 15 points from Alex Kalmbach which included a late three pointer in regulation to force overtime. Santa Rosa will now face San Joaquin Delta College at 6pm in the semifinals.
Game 11 Sacramento City 68 LA Valley 62: Sacramento City (4-2) advances in the consolation bracket by defeating LA Valley College (1-3). Sacramento was led by Jessica Lauderdale who hit seven three pointers on her way to 24 points on the night. LA Valley was paced by Adaora Obi who finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Sacramento will now face Riverside tomorrow at 10am.
Game 12 San Joaquin Delta 64 Pasadena 58: Delta (7-1) held on to defeat Pasadena (6-3) in the second round of the winner's bracket. Delta received 18 points and 7 assists from sophomore point guard Tiara Tucker. Pasadena was led by Chy'Annea Hodges who tallied 13 points. Pasadena will now face Ventura at 2pm tomorrow. Delta will now face Santa Rosa Junior College at 6pm in the semifinals.
Game 13 Solano 68 Reedley 47: Solano (1-4) received 13 points from Chanel Johnson to advance in the consolation bracket. Reedley College (3-3) was led by Tyana Turkvan in the loss. Solano will now face Antelope Valley College tomorrow at 12noon.
Game 14 Mt. San Antonio 60 Cerritos 47: Mt. SAC (9-0) pulled away from Cerritos (6-3) in the second half to advance to the semifinals tomorrow at 8pm against Sierra College. Gina Henderson scored 16 points in the win.
Game 15 Antelope Valley 61 Glendale 38: Antelope Valley (2-5) pulled away from Glendale (1-6) to advance in the consolation bracket. AVC was led by Destini Price with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Game 16 Sierra 70 COS 48 COS couldn't overcome an early deficit and lost to Sierra 70-48 in the second round of the Gilcrest. Dakota Oliver and Alexandria Tobie each tallied 10 points each in the loss. Sierra was led by Desinee Bowie with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Sierra will now face Mt. SAC in the semifinals and COS will face Cerritos College at 4pm.
