COS women's soccer off to hot start
Monterey, CA. (8/29/15)
The COS women's soccer team got off to quick start to the 2015 season by defeating Monterey Peninsula College 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in Monterey. Coach Hamid was pleased with the team's performance. "We played well today for a first game and it was a total team effort" said Hamid. "It was fun as we played everyone on the roster today."
Linzee Gilliand, a freshmen forward from Tulare Union High School, paced the Giants with two goals today. Freshman forward Alyssa Pratt (Redwood High) also contributed to the win with a goal.
After today's match against Monterey Peninsula College the team was treated to lunch on Monterey's historic Cannery Row. "I like to take the team fun or historical places if we can squeeze it in while we are on the road" said Hamid, "it just so happened that we were able to do this today."
COS continues to play on the road next Tuesday when they travel to Bakersfield College to play the Renegades. "Tuesday will be a tough challenge for us" said Coach Hamid, "they have a good program down there and are well coached."
