COS volleyball falls on the road
The Giants (3-2) traveled to Santa Cruz to face two undefeated, powerhouse volleyball teams this Saturday. They lost their first match to Cabrillo College in three sets (18-25, 16-25, 23-25). KiAnna Cunningham (Woodlake) recorded nine kills with a .075 hitting percentage. Reina Sykes (Golden Valley) contributed 32 assists and Brittany Roush (El Diamante) added 17 digs. "I was pleased with how we competed against them, but I am disappointed in the results" COS head coach Kim Rix said.
Their second match of the day the Giants fell short against Sacramento City College, losing in four sets (21-25, 22-25, 25-22, 14-25). Idalis Rubalcava (Sierra Pacific) recorded 14 kills and Emily Thompson (Hanford) recorded eight kills.
COS Volleyball will continue league with a rival match Wednesday at home against Fresno City College starting at 6pm. Coach Rix said, "Fresno is always good team, I'm excited to see our girls compete against them."
