Giants Defeat Porterville

COS volleyball picked up another conference win with a three game sweep (25-8, 25-18, 25-17) over the Porterville Pirates Friday evening. The Giants improved their league record to 7-3 as they look to keep it rolling with another home league game win next Wednesday night at 6pm against Merced College.

Against Porterville, the middle blockers were the offensive threat for the Giants; KiAnna Cunningham (Woodlake) led the Giants with 12 kills and Emily Thompson (Hanford) followed suit with 8 kills. Defensively for the Giants, Alex Chavez (Sunnyside) and Brittnay Roush (El Diamonte) each had 11 digs on the night. Coach Rix said, "Defensively tonight I thought the girls were solid. Alex and Brittany did a great job and really stepped up for us."
