Giants' riders excel at regional competition
College of the Sequoias' equestrian rider Emily Smith (Visalia) has qualified for the Western semifinals -- set for March 21-22 in Galva, Ill., in the Rookie class.
Smith was one of three Giants to finish in the top five during regional competition Feb. 22-23. Cheyenne O'Dell (Golden West) and Heather Williams (Granite Hills-Porterville) also finished in the top five.
Brooklyn Dieter (Visalia) was the California Collegiate Reserve champion in the Beginner class, while Megan Frassetto (29 Palms) was California Collegiate Reserve champ in the Level 1 class for COS.
