Equestrian is High Point Team at COS/Reedley Show with Taylor Stephens as High Point Rider
In a great display of equestrian excellence, Tulare native and Sophomore Taylor Stephens secured the title of high point rider on both competition days. In a showdown against 6 other riders, she came out on top, which means she also leads the region in points. 36 points is needed for an automatic bid to the postseason. This season's postseason will be held in Tennessee and the National's will be held in North Carolina.
The success continues throughout this team, as the entire team showed their prowess by claiming the title of the overall high point team in two straight days of competition amongst four-year programs, which included Stanford, UC-Davis, Cal Poly-Ponoma, Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, Sonoma State, and Reedley College. The team continues to work with Annika Hansen (Hanford HS), Cloe Terrill (Exeter Union HS), and Angelica Yocum-Gomez (Lindsay HS), who are also experienced returners that are aiming to be part of the postseason as well.
Behind every great rider stands a hero, our amazing horses! It is understandable that the horses get their praise as they have to recover from this past weekend as they prepare for the COS/Reedley Show this coming weekend, October 21-22.
