
Giants earn first win for new coach Bustamante
Sebastian Caballero-Lopez (Golden West High) had a goal and an assist to help College of the Sequoias men's soccer team earn its first victory for new coach Renato Bustamante.
Caballero-Lopez scored off an assist from Carlos Siliezar (Redwood) and assisted on a goal by Faustino Serrano (Redwood) during a 3-2 Giants' victory over Antelope Valley on March 12 in Lancaster.
Sequoias also received a goal from Osvaldo Ibarra-Sanchez (Strathmore) on assists from Alejandro Saldana (El Diamante) and Mathew Ramirez (Lemoore)
The Giants (1-2-1) lost 3-1 against the Marauders (1-1-0) on March 13 at home.
Caballero-Lopez scored Sequoias' lone goal on assists from Ramirez and Abraham Cardenas (Porterville).
The Giants' six-game season closes March 19-20 against Allan Hancock (0-2-0).
Sequoias travels to Santa Maria to face the Bulldogs at 1 p.m. March 19, then will host Allan Hancock on its campus field at 1 p.m. March 20.
