VISALIA, Calif. – The College of the Sequoias men's tennis team wrapped up a strong 2025 season with multiple postseason honors and six players qualifying for the CCCAA State Championships.
Leading the postseason accolades were Masen Davis (Hanford West HS) and Kenneth Catalan (Lemoore HS), who were both named to the All-Central Valley Conference Team. Davis and Catalan each advanced deep into the CVC individual tournament and were key contributors in both singles and doubles throughout conference play.
The Giants qualified two singles players for the 3C2A Individual State Championships—Davis and Catalan—after strong performances at the CVC Tournament. Additionally, COS qualified all three of its doubles teams for the state tournament, showcasing the team's depth and versatility. The qualifying duos include Davis/Catalan, Connor Travis (Lemoore HS)/Yufan He (Mission Oak HS), and Elijah Mendez (Mt. Whitney HS)/Ayden Richmond (Mission Oak HS).
These players will represent Sequoias at the 3C2A State Championships, held at the prestigious Ojai Tennis Tournament from April 25–28 in Ventura County.
In addition to the individual state tournament, COS will also compete in the 3C2A NorCal Team Playoffs. The Giants are slated to open the postseason in the NorCal Team Quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 8. With a win, they would move on to the Semifinals on Tuesday, April 15, and potentially reach the NorCal Team Final on Saturday, April 19. Match times and locations are to be determined.
