
COS Softball Falls on the Road
The Giants Softball team kicked off their 2019 season with a doubleheader against Foothill College on Friday. The Giants came up short in both games losing to Nor Cal perineal power Foothill College.
In the first game, Arianna Guzman had a strong game on the mound to start her season. Guzman pitched 6 innings allowing only 2 runs while striking out 7. The Giants fell to Foothill 2-0.
The bats came to life for the Giants in the second game but it wasn't enough as the Owls won the game 11-6. COS shortstop Samantha Martinez went 2-4 at the plate and drove in 3 runs. Left fielder Jenna Reyes also went 2-4 while driving in a run as well.
The Giants will look to get their first win of the young season on Saturday, February 2nd as they host a doubleheader at home against Cabrillo at 11:00 a.m. and San Joaquin Delta at 2:00 p.m.
