COS Squeaks By Merced
(11-4-15)
COS volleyball came out on top in Wednesday nights tight match with Merced College. The Giants claimed the victory in four sets (25-13, 25-23, 17-25, 25-22). Head Coach Kim Rix said, "Merced was scrappy and you could tell they wanted the win. I was glad our girls were able to pull through and we will move on and focus on playing Reedley Friday. It's going to be a big game for us."
Merced was unable to stop 6'1" middle blocker KiAnna Cunningham (Woodlake); she was the driving force behind the Giant's win Wednesday night. She reached a season high of 23 kills and added three solo blocks and one blocking assist. Cunningham could not have achieved these numbers without setter Reina Sykes (Golden Valley) who contributed 38 assists.
The Giants, who are now 8-3 in conference play, will face Reedley College in Reedley Friday night at 6pm.
