Giants roll past Merced for third straight victory

Sequoias defeated Merced 3-1 in front of a home crowd Wednesday night at Porter Field House.
COS took the first set narrowly, 25-22, and the second set 25-16. Merced battled back in the third set to a 26-24 victory and forced a fourth set.
The Giants closed out the Blue Devils 25-16 in the fourth and final set.
The win propels Sequoias' win streak to three straight matches. COS is currently tied with Taft for third place in the Central Valley Conference at 5-3.
Valerie Vargas led COS with 45 assists, Emily Soto had a team-high 18 kills, and Cassidy Dolin registered four blocks.
