COS looking to Finish 2022 Strong at Gavilan Tournament
College of the Sequoias' men's basketball team will get its final non-conference tuneups this weekend, taveling to Gilroy. The Giants, 9-3 overall, were ranked 11th in the state and fifth in Northern California in the last state poll in early December. Since then Sequoias has won three more games.
COS coach Dallas Jensen will oppose his brother Derek on Friday when the Giants play at Gavilan College. On Saturday Sequoias will play Cabrillo College, also in Gilroy.
Looming ahead next week is the conference opener against Columbia, one of the Central Valley Conference title favorites. The no. 9-ranked Claim Jumpers will invade Porter Field House for a 7 p.m. game January 4.
