The Giants Open league play versus Columbia College
COS looks to go 1-0 in league
The College of the Sequoias men's basketball team opens defense of its Cerntral Valley Conference championship Wednesday night with a difficult task, hosting Columbia College at 7 p.m. at the Porter Field House.
Columbia, coming off a 24-6 season, is 12-2 this year and was ranked No. 4 in the state and No. 3 in Northern California, in the last state poll.
COS, winners of six straight, is 11-3 and was ranked ninth in the state and fifth in NorCal in the last poll. The Giants tuned up for their conference season by winning two games last weekend at the Andrel Gaines Memorial Classic at Gavilan College, downing the host Rams 83-63 and following that with a 79-74 win over Cabrillo.
