
Men's Tennis off to a 3-1 start
The Giants Men's Tennis team has started the season 3-1.
vs Solano
The Giants defeated Solano College 6-3. Isaac Maciel Jr (Mission Oak HS) fell short against Denis Reilly 0-2 (0-6, 4-6). Masen Davis (Hanford West HS) had a good day as he won singles after losing the first set, against Mark Pazmandi 2-1 (4-6, 6-1, 6-3). Davis also competed in doubles with Juan Ocampo (Tulare Union HS) and they beat Willy Rivera/Mark Pazmandi 8-3.
vs Shasta
The College of the Sequoias Men's Tennis came out on top as they defeated Shasta College 9-0. Gilbert Gutierrez (Lindsay HS) / Ismael Navarro Aceves (Tulare Western HS) competed in #2 doubles as they beat Billy Soksoda/Raajbir Kalotia 8-2. Frank Cadena also performed admirably as he beat Raajbir Kalotia in straight sets (6-4, 6-0).
vs Reedley
The COS Giants beat Reedley College 5-4. Yufan He (Mission Oak HS) / Masen Davis played well in #3 doubles as they defeated Anthony Gomez/Matthew Hernandez 8-5. Juan Ocampo also defeated Aaron Fernandez in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) in #2 singles.
vs Fresno City
The Giants lost to Fresno City 9-0. Christopher Rosales (Mt. Whitney HS) fell short as he lost to Josh Renldorf in #3 singles (3-6, 4-6). In #4 singles, Mason Davis lost to Adam Peltola (2-6, 2-6).
Next Up
The Giants are now 3-1 on the season and will go on the road to take on Porterville College on Tuesday, February 27 and Modesto College on Thursday, Feburary 29. They will return home this Friday, March 1st to take on Reedley at 1 pm.
