Weekly Report: Softball Opens With Two Wins
The COS softball team got off to a good start this past weekend as COS defeated Modesto College in two games last Saturday at COS. In the first game COS won by a score of 9-3. Sophomore Juli Lopez (Mission Oak) went 3 for 4 and scored twice in the victory. Freshmen pitcher Ashley Paradine (Dinuba) picked up the win for the Giants in her first outing.
In game two, COS defeated Modesto 11-5 before the game was called due to darkness after the sixth inning. Pitcher Ashley Guzman (Hanford High) picked up the win for Giants who also went 3-3 at the plate and scored four runs. "It was a good start to the season," said COS head softball coach Michelle Bolt. "Saturday was a good starting point but we have work to do. I was pleased to see how resilient the girls were when we were in a few tight situations."
COS will host a double header today (Friday) against Chabot College at 12noon and 2pm at COS.
