Stars and Stripes Update
On February 11-13th the Lady Giants held their annual Stars & Stripes Tournament finishing with a record of 4-1 on the weekend. The Giants faced Gavilan College in a 3 game series defeating them twice and posting one loss. The last day of the tournament the Giants faced the Ohlone Renegades and Siskiyous Eagles, both games equally intense as it came down to the last innings to determine a winner. Josey Burke provided clutch moments for the Giants as she got a walk-off hit in the 7th inning versus Ohlone and she also got the RBI to put the Giants up 5-4 in the 5th inning versus Siskiyous. The game was called after 5 innings due to darkness.
Ashley Guzman went 10-18 on the weekend with 5 RBIs and 3 triples. Ashley Ginnandrea went 3-4on Friday versus Gavilan with 1 triple and 1 RBI.
Lina Vaca pitched 12.6 innings posting 9 strikeouts and only allowing 1 earned run. Ashley Guzman pitched 13 innings posting 13 strikeouts and allowing only 4 earned runs.
This upcoming week the Lady Giants hit the road for 3 days to face Cosumnes River, Sac City, Ohlone and Sierra Colleges.
