Battle of the Regions Results

College of the Sequoias Track & Field took part in their first meet of the 2024 season at Battle of the Regions, which was hosted at Bakersfield College.

Reanna Soto, a freshmen sprinter from El Diamante High School was one of the top performers for the Giants.  Soto was the anchor of the 4 x 100-meter relay which ran a 50.78 to place first in this event. Soto also ran the third leg of the 4 x 400-meter relay in which the team ran a 4:18.05 placing 1st. 

The top male student-athlete was Mekhi Sanchez (Freshmen, Lemoore High). He placed 1st in triple jump with 13.72 meters, which places him 5th in school history. Sanchez also placed 3rd in long jump with 6.64 meters.

The Giants will be preparing for the next event, which will be this Saturday, February 17th at the Sun Bird Invitational at Fresno Pacific University.
