COS Women's Soccer Split a Pair
COS went 1-1 last week, and are playing well in CVC play.
The COS Women's Soccer team once again split their games last week, losing their first game of the week on Tuesday against Taft College, 3-0, and winning their second game of the week against Porterville 6-0.
For the game last Tuesday, COS was able to hold off Taft for nearly the first 40 minutes of game time, before allowing a goal at the end of the first half, then another goal at the start of the second half.
Head Coach Elliot Hord commented on this difference after the game as well, "I think we didn't minimize our risk. We've always been talking about minimizing our risk in the back and we played with it at a certain point when we needed to clear the ball, but I don't think anything necessarily changed, it was just an error, and we have to continue to minimize those errors"
Their 6-0 win against Porterville was pure dominance all the way through, with offensive pressure leaning heavily to the opposing team that led to a 5-0 second half. All of their goals came off six separate players, giving nearly the entire team a chance to hit the back of the net.
The Giants now sit at 5-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
Moving onto next week, COS will host Reedley College at 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 8.
