
Women's Swimming finish 2nd in the COS Tri-Meet
The COS Women's Swimming & Dive team concluded the COS Tri-Meet with a second-place finish, competing against conference opponents, Clovis and Fresno City.
Kallysta Cox (Strathmore HS) showcased her talent in the 200 freestyle, securing fourth place with a time of 2:26.60. Alexandria Bower (Redwood HS) delivered a strong performance in the 100 freestyle, clinching third place with a time of 1:00.66. In the 50 freestyle, Gracie Rivas (El Diamante HS) and Yazmyn Sanchez (Strathmore HS) displayed their speed, finishing third and fourth respectively, with times of 28.17 and 30.52.
The 50 butterfly event saw Bella Klattiwer's (Sierra Pacific HS) impressive victory with a time of 30.47, while Ella Satorre (Redwood HS) and Yazmyn Sanchez claimed third and fifth place with times of 33.96 and 35.48.
The Giants dominated the 100 breaststroke, securing the second, third, and fourth fastest times of the event; Bower, Klattiwer, and Satorre showcased their prowess by finishing with impressive times of 1:13.92, 1:17.45, and 1:18.76 respectively. In the 50 breaststroke, Bower (34.32), Satorre (36.67), and Cox (38.31) swept the podium, claiming the top three spots.
Klattiwer continued her strong performance, finishing second in the 100 individual medley (IM) with a time of 1:11.37, further highlighting the team's depth and talent.
COS has one last regular season meet before the playoffs. They will be on the road at the Bakersfield Invite on Saturday, April 6. It will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the host college, Bakersfield College.
