Giants headed to Highlander Invitational
COS will get an up close look at the state's top-ranked men's cross country team when it competes at the Highlander Invitational in Riverside on Oct. 19.
No. 1 San Diego Mesa headlines to the community college field. COS is ranked No. 6 in the state and No. 2 in Northern California.
The Giants' men are led by Ismael Ramirez (Redwood) and Oscar Perez (Dinuba), who have been their top two placers in every race this season.
Ramirez is coming off a first-place finish during his last race, the Toro Invitational on Oct. 4 in Salinas.
Ramirez topped the 155-runner field by crossing the finish line in 20:30.5.
Courtney Santos (Hanford West) has been the COS women's team's top placer all season.
