COS Volleyball Update September 19th.
Women's Volleyball Update Sept. 19:
The Giants Women's volleyball team had 3 matches on over the past week. The first one was against Cerro Coso on Wednesday, September 12th, where they lost 3 sets out of 4 by final line scores of 25-23, 25-14, 19-25, and 16-14. Christa Pilgrim led the Giants in points and kills with 17 and 15. Cassidy Dolin had a great game too with 16 points and 12 kills.
The Giants then hosted West Hills on Friday, sweeping the Golden Eagles with final scores of 25-13, 25-19, and 26-24. Cassidy Dolin led the team with 8 points. Both Madison Sousa and Mikayla Grimes had 2 blocks each.
The Giants then had a doubleheader on Saturday in the Cabrillo Classic against American River and also against Cabrillo College. The Giants won their matchup against American River, losing their first set, but then coming back to win the next 3 sets with final scores of 24-26, 25-23, 25-23, and again 25-23. Cassidy Dolin had 16.5 points for the Giants to go along with 4 blocks. Both she and Emily Soto had 12 kills.
After winning their first match of the day, the Giants fell to Cabrillo, 3 sets to 1, by scores of 29-27, 22-25, 25-18, and 25-20. Cassidy Dolin continued her great week with 16 points and 4 blocks in this matchup. Emily Soto led the team with 17 points and 16 kills.
The Giants are now 7-5 on the season and will next go on the road to face Merced College on Wednesday, September 19th at 6:00 p.m.
