
COS off to Strong Start to Season
The Giants Men's Basketball team took part in the Fresno City Tourney over the weekend. Their first game came on Friday against state #1 ranked San Francisco City College where the Giants fell to the Rams 85-53. Jarell Holmes led the Giants with 8 points. As a team, the Giants shot only 36% from the floor. For the Rams, 4 different players scored double digits, with Walter Urbina leading the team with 19.
The Giants next game of the tournament came on Saturday against Sierra College. The Giants got out to an early lead and never looked back as they topped the Wolverines 73-63. Tristan Forsyth put the Giants on his back as he erupted for 30 points and 8 rebounds in this game. The Giants shot a much better 45% from the field including 73% of their free throws.
The Giants are now 3-2 on the season, with their only losses coming to the state ranked #1 and #2 teams. COS will next travel to San Francisco to take part in the San Francisco City Tournament on Friday, December 1st and Saturday, December 2nd. Tip-offs are scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
