
COS Men's Basketball Continues Winning Ways
COS men's basketball won two games last week by defeating Cerro Coso College on Wednesday and then Columbia JC on Saturday.
Behind Keshawn Gibbs' 25 points, the Giants were able to pull away with the victory 71-59 over Cerro Coso. Tristan Forsyth added 18 points and 7 rebounds. T.J. Givance led the team with 9 rebounds.
On Saturday the Giants continued their winning ways by defeating Columbia College 77-68The Giants offense was led by both Gibbs and Forsyth again as they each scored 20 points. Gibbs hauled in a team leading 8 rebounds. Both Columbia and COS now sit 6-2 in Central Valley Conference play and are tied for second.
The Giants are now 13-7 on the season and are currently riding a 6- game win streak. They will look to continue their momentum as they next face off against Merced on the road.
The perineal showdown between COS men's basketball and Fresno City College will happen this upcoming Saturday February 2nd at 3pm in the COS Porter Field House as the Giants look to continue their winning ways. The COS vs. Fresno game will be the first game of a double header as the second game of the day will be the COS women's basketball team as they take on Taft College. Pepsi will be the game sponsors for the day and will be giving away exit sampling products to those who attend the game.
