
COS continues win streak with 100-44 victory over Palo Verde
College of the Sequoias Men's Basketball comes off their previous win over San Joaquin Delta, with a second straight victory with a 100-44 win over Palo Verde last night.
The Giants improved to 6-2 on the season. They were led this night by starting backcourt Omari Nesbit (Sacramento, CA) and Jose Cuello (Harlem, NY), who both scored 19 points each. Nesbit went 5-7 from the 3-point line, while Cuello also added 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
The lead grew to 30 points as the Giants went into halftime up 51-21.
Hanford-native Jaden Haire (Hanford West HS) had a big game as he had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Sequoias also received contributions from Davis White (Santa Clarita, CA) added 18 points and 4 rebounds; Alex Argandar (Modesto, CA) as he had 8 assists; Cameron Clark (Gwinnett, GA) added 6 points and 6 rebounds; Kion Hayes (Savannah, GA) added 8 points and 4 rebounds; Jaylon Lee (Las Vegas, NV) added 7 points and 4 rebounds); and James Freeman (Sacramento, CA), who had 5 rebounds and 4 blocks.
The Giants are set to host Antelope Valley College at 7 p.m. this Friday, December 8, which is "Youth Jersey Night" as all youth wearing their youth jerseys will receive free admission into the game along with their parents.
Admission into COS basketball games are $8 for general admission and $5 for seniors and students.
Sequoias also hosts a Women's and Men's doubleheader this Saturday, December 9, and there will also be a Toy Drive. Women's game vs Lassen College starts at 1 PM and Men's game vs Butte College starts at 3 PM. Fans attending Saturday are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy with them, and in return will receive free admission for one individual.
