Giants capture both men's and women's NorCal title
Both the men's and women's College of the Sequoias track team captured the NorCal title this past weekend at De Anza College in Cupertino.
Quincy Hall continued to dazzle for the Giants, finishing first in both the 400m race and 400m hurdles.
Bryce Huggins captured the men's long jump championship, with his distance of 7.48m.
Shaquille Singuineau tossed 16.10m in the shot put finals, winning the title by .08 of a meter. Armon Hunter threw for first in the discuss at 51.78m.
The Giants had a pair of one-two finishes in both the 400m races.
Quincy Hall and Isaiah Hutchinson placed first and second, while Melanie Rodney and Tarika Moses did the same in the women's race.
Rodney also placed first in the 200m dash.
Alyssa Block defeated teammate Jordyn Zorn in both the 1500m and 5000m races for first place.
COS basketball star Idalis Rubalcava stood on top of the podium with her first place finish in the high jump. Rubalcava soared up to 1.60m for the victory.
To cap off the day, both the men's and women's team won the 4x400m races.
Sequoias will compete in the CCCAA State Championships this weekend at American River College in Sacramento. This will be the Giants final meet this season.
