The COS men's basketball team will be moving all four members of its sophomore class on to four-year universities.
Guard Tiyon Martin (Pasadena) became the final Giants' sophomore to find a new home when he committed to Limestone University, an NCAA Division II school in Gaffney, S.C.
Martin averaged 10.9 points, 5.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.1 steals a game while helping COS go 24-6 overall and reach the state's Elite Eight tournament, which was canceled before it could start by the California Community College Athletic Association because of safety concerns related to the global coronavirus pandemic.
Martin was a 42.4 percent shooter from 3-point range and the Giants' most reliable free throw shooter at 83.8 percent during his only season at COS.
Other Giants' sophomores moving on include guard/forward Savion Johnson (Hanford West) to NAIA Benedictine, forward/center Elhu Cobb (Santa Maria) to NCAA Division II Western Oregon and point guard Dewayne Holmes (Riverside) to NAIA Saint Katherine.
COS freshman guard Carlos Allen (Atlanta) also is moving on, having signed with NAIA Western Montana.
