COS defeated the Porterville Tigers in three straight sets on Wednesday to record their first win in Central Valley Conference action.
The Giants took the first and third sets quickly, 25-11. Porterville battled in the second set, but Sequoias held strong for a 25-21 win.
Payton Trimm led the Giants in kills with 11, and Taylor Keeline finished with 9 on the night. The duo combined for 25.5 points.
Valerie Vargas registered a team-high 19 assists, while teammate Aubrey Cardoza dealt out 12.
Sequoias will host Taft at Porter Field House on Friday, with the match starting at 6 p.m.
