
World Lead for Former COS Giant Quincy Hall
Quincy Hall, a standout alumnus of College of the Sequoias (COS), continues to make headlines as he continues his prepartion for the 2024 Summer Olympics, which will be held in Paris, France. Hall has been turning heads with his exceptional performances, and most recently at the Diamond League meet in Monaco, as he set a world-leading time for the year of 43.80 seconds in the 400 meters.
The invitation-only Diamond League brings together the top track and field athletes to showcase their skills and collect points toward the season-ending championship event and elevate their status across the world. Hall's participation in this elite competition was a step in his preparation for the Paris Summer Olympics. His world-leading time of 43.80 seconds not only clinched the victory, but also the only man to break 44 in 2024 in the 400m. Hall beat his previous best of 44.17 seconds, that he set at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, Oregon less than a month ago. With this time, it also puts him in the record books as the 9th fastest time as an American of all time. He continues to solidify his status as a top contender for the upcoming Paris Summer Olympics.
Hall will run individually in the 400 meters as well as the 4 x 400 meter relay for Team USA. The 400 meters Round 1 starts on Sunday, August 4th, while the 4 x 400 meter relay begins on Friday, August 9.
