A 24-point third quarter lifted the College of the Sequoias women's basketball team to a 64-51 victory over Mt. San Antonio College in the 41st Annual Tom Gilcrest Invitational.
With the tournament crown in hand, the Giants stay undefeated at 11-0 in 2017. The win also marks the third straight weekend the fourth-ranked College of the Sequoias women's basketball team captures a tournament championship
Shae Sanchez came off the bench for COS and scored a team-high 18 points. Sanchez was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line while shooting 5-for-12 from the field.
Zharia McCollum and Michal Sasson each chipped in 14 points for the Giants.
Sequoias look to capture their fourth tournament victory in the Allan Hancock Tournament December 7-9. COS plays Santa Barbara in the opening round at 7 p.m. in Santa Maria.
