Giants to face state No. 5 Folsom Lake
COS (3-7-2, 1-2-0) resumes a string of four straight non-conference games when it plays at state No. 5 Folsom Lake (8-1-5) at 6 p.m. Oct. 18.
The Giants opened the stretch of games outside the Central Valley Conference with a 3-1 loss to Cosumnes River on Oct. 15 at Riverway Sports Park.
The game was tied 1-1 through 30 minutes, but Cosumnes River (1-9-3) pulled away as Andrew Covert assisted on Peyton Montiel's goal in the 37th minute and Covert added an unassisted goal in the 60th minute.
COS will also play at San Joaquin Delta (8-3-2) at 4 p.m. Oct. 22 and host No. 20 Modesto (7-5-1) at 4 p.m. Oct. 25 to wrap up their non-conference schedule.
The Giants return to Central Valley Conference play at 2 p.m. Oct. 29 when they play at state No. 3 Fresno City (10-0-3, 3-0-0).
