
After close loss to Fresno City, Giant headed to Taft
COS (4-10-2, 1-3-0) catches a bit of a break when it plays at Taft at 3 p.m. Nov. 1.
The Cougars (5-8-3, 2-1-1) will be the Giants' first unranked opponent in more than two weeks following games against state No. 5 Folsom Lake (5-1 loss Oct. 18), No. 10 San Joaquin Delta (7-0 loss Oct. 22), No. 20 Modesto (2-0 win Oct. 25) and No. 3 Fresno City (1-0 loss Oct. 29).
Michael Gonzalez converted a feed from Melvin Benitez in the 45th minutes as the Rams (12-0-5, 4-0-0) topped COS in its most recent match.
Next week, the Giants play at No. 14 Clovis (10-3-4, 2-1-1) at 1 p.m. Nov. 5 and at West Hills-Lemoore (3-10-1, 0-4-0) at 1 p.m. Nov. 8.
COS closes the regular season with a home match against Fresno City set for 3 p.m. Nov. 15 on its campus field.
