Giants to host Allan Hancock
COS (5-1) rides a five-game winning streak into a home non-conference game Nov. 23 against Allan Hancock (2-3).
Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. from Porter Field House. Admission is $5 with those 10 and under free. The Giants beat Allan Hancock 71-66 on Nov. 13 in Santa Maria.
COS, which is ranked No. 5 in the Northern California preseason poll by the California Community College Women's Basketball Coaches Association, has outscored opponents by 19 points a game so far despite returning only two players - Alaysia Reed (Las Vegas) and Elyssa Brumfield (Golden Valley-Bakersfield) - from a team that went 28-4 and reached the state's Elite Eight last season.
The Giants are scoring an average of 75.7 points a game while giving up 56.8.
Felicia Ramirez (Caruthers) is leading COS in scoring with 12.3 points per game. Four other Giants - Reed, Aubrey Nunes (El Diamante), Hailee Edwards (Ridgeview-Bakersfield) and Serena Ybarra (Coalinga) - are all contributing at least nine points a game.
After Allan Hancock, COS will be idle until the 43rd annual Gilcrest Tournament on Dec. 5-7 at Porter Field House.
