Giants angling for 8th straight NorCal playoff berth
College of the Sequoias' women's basketball team appears to be in position to land an eighth straight Northern California Regional playoffs berth heading into its final two regular season games.
The Giants (17-9, 6-4) are ranked No. 12 in NorCal by the California Community College Women's Basketball Coaches' Association with home games against Porterville (3-22, 1-8) at 5 p.m. Feb. 19 and against West Hills-Lemoore (8-17, 4-5) at 5 p.m. Feb. 21 remaining.
COS improved its resume to be among the 18 teams who will be selected for the NorCal Regionals with a 47-28 Central Valley Conference victory at Reedley on Feb. 12.
The Giants didn't allow a point in the fourth quarter, breaking open a four-point game (32-28).
Reedley (11-14, 6-3) beat COS 68-63 on Jan. 18 during the first round of CVC play.
