The COS Giants volleyball team improved to 4-0 in Central Valley Conference play after defeating West Hills Coalinga 3-0 Wednesday night.
"It was a good win for us," Giants head coach Kim Rix said. "Everyone did their job well and we stayed consistent throughout the match."
COS took the first set easily 25-13. The second didn't cause much trouble, either, with the Giants winning 25-14. The third and final set proved tougher for the Giants. They battled but came up on top for the sweep, 25-18.
Taylor Keeline (Mt. Whitney) and Emily Thompson (Hanford) stood out offensively with six and four kills, respectively. Thompson has 52 kills this season and Keeline is rising up with eight.
COS will travel to Merced on Friday. Game time is 6 p.m.
"We're happy with our league record right now," Rix said. "We have some very tough matches coming up and know that there are areas where we still need to improve."
