
Volleyball stay undefeated in the CVC
Volleyball extended their winning streak to three matches and improve to 6-0 in conference after defeating Columbia 3-0.
COS (9-3, CVC 6-0) is currently ranked 39th in the state and are tied for first place in the Central Valley Conference with 5th ranked Fresno City.
The Giants took care of the 2-11 Claim Jumpers in the first set 25-13. Sequoias cruised in the next two sets 25-12 and 25-14.
Emily Thompson (Hanford) led the Giants with 9 kills. McKenzie Harris and Gabi Crookshanks had 6 kills each. Brittney Roush (El Diamante) led COS with 14 digs.
"Our hitting percentage was at a high level last night," head coach Kim Rix said. "That was good to see because it was something we have been working on."
COS next two games are against the top 3 teams in conference. First they will travel to third place Taft on Friday. On Tuesday, they will be on the road to play Fresno City. Both matches start at 6 p.m.
"We have a big match with Taft on Friday," Rix said. "We are 6-0 and they are 5-1 with their only loss coming to Fresno. It will be fun and our girls will enjoy the competition."
